The Lonesome Pine Ski Area in Fort Kent is reaping the benefits of early snow. Staff at the hill started making snow in late November and now the natural snow has made for increased visits to the hill.
“This year has been great. We started making snow at the regular time this season. We started natural snow on top of that and it’s been non stop ever since and we have had great crowds to start the season.”
Voisine says natural snow helps bring more people to the hill and that increases skier visits
” This natural snow is great. We have big crowds this year our membership is up so everything is going good.”
It’s the middle of the Christmas break Voisine says the number of youngsters skiing is way up and he expects it to be even busier as the week goes on
” This Christmas vacation has been a boom start. we expect good crowds over the weekend. The weather has been greet no so cold and the snow is nice.”
