Eagle Lake Crash

| December 9, 2013

Friday night at 10:25, State Police received a report of a serious motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Convent Road and Main Street in Eagle Lake.  Trooper Chuck Michaud responded to the scene of the crash.  Investigation disclosed that 22 year old Dylan Deprey of Eagle Lake, had been traveling north on Route 11 (Main Street) in Eagle Lake.  He lost control of his 2005 Dodge 4-door sedan, skidded across Convent Road, and then struck a large evergreen tree.  The force of the crash was so severe that it uprooted the mature tree and snapped it in half.  The investigation is ongoing; however, speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.  Mr. Deprey was transported to Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent by ambulance, and later transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with serious injuries. Duprey was not wearing his seat belt.  Tpr. Michaud was assisted at the crash by Trooper Jeff Clark, Warden Sgt. Jeff Spencer, and the Eagle Lake Fire Department.
