Drug Bust

OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine (AP) – Maine authorities have announced the arrests of 12 people after months of investigating illegal drug activity in Old Orchard Beach.
Police Chief Dana Kelley announced on Monday that more than 60 officers fanned out through the coastal community early Friday morning, executed search warrants and made the arrests.

Kelley tells the Portland Press Herald that all the arrests were based on buys made by undercover officers, and that the drugs included cocaine, heroin and prescription medications.

The chief says police made arrests at five locations, and seized a handgun in one of the raids.
