Valentine’s Day is just a few days away and if you haven’t already made arrangements to get that special gift for your sweetheart, you don’t want to delay. New Source 8’s Angela Christoforos explains…
Love is in the air, on store shelves, and inside Cook’s Florist shop. Valentine’s Day is just a few days away and florists are working around the clock preparing flower arrangements that will fly out of the shop the 13th and 14th. Although it’s known for being a last minute holiday, you don’t want to wait until the last minute to get a bouquet for the special day.
Owner of Cook’s Florist Karen Duncan said, “Unfortunately you do have to turn some people away the last minute people come in and they are looking for red roses and we are sold out. It’s always good to do it in advance that way we can get the order out early for you, if you do want something a little bit different.”
Shopper Bruce Roope got the memo, cause he’s on the ball early!
“The last minute always gets too panicky and rushed,” said Roope.
Whether it’s the flower shop or jewelry store; the earlier you shop, the better the selection and the better the service.
Owner of Wilder’s Jewelry Store Cathy Beaulieu said, “If you wait till the last minute there can be selection issues, which can lead to disappointed partners. Just going home with a gift isn’t what it’s all about, it’s going home with the right gift.”
Now one place where it might actually pay off to wait is Walmart. That’s because all of this chocolate will be 50% off the day after Valentine’s Day.
Walmart Supervisor Jasmine Kozura said, “Cheap candy is everyone’s favorite!”
The owner of Cook’s Florist says about 100 dozen roses will go out the door this week.
