Maine’s Bath Iron Works says three employees assigned to a location near the Washington Navy Yard where a shooting took place are accounted for and safe.
A dozen people were killed in the shooting on Monday.
The three employees are permanently assigned to Washington, D.C., near the home of the Naval Sea Systems Command. But spokesman Jim DeMartini says the workers’ offices are outside the Navy Yard. DeMartini says the shipyard’s security is aware of the situation in Washington but the shipyard declined to discuss specifics.
