Three crimes were committed in Monticello back in August, and investigators believe they are connected. Here’s October’s Crimestoppers Crime of the Month…

During the early morning hours of August 3, 2013, Police were called to investigate an attempted break-in at the Monticello Country Store in Monticello, located on US Route 1. The owners of the country store called the police after witnesses say they heard noises outside. Witnesses say two young adult males in a white sedan exited the vehicle and proceeded to the store. They tried to gain entry through the back window, but fled the scene when confronted. Evidence is currently being processed. That same day, the Blue Moose in Monticello was broke in to and cash was stolen. The day before both of these incidents, there was a suspected arson at a Potato house next to the Blue Moose. All three of these crimes are believed to be connected. If you have information on this crime or any other crime, call the Aroostook County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-638-8477. That’s 1-800-638-TIPS. You do not have to give your name. Anyone providing information this month that leads to a grand jury indictment on this crime is eligible for a one thousand dollar award.
