Caribou will be a very busy place tomorrow and that includes the downtown part of the City.  The Downtown Mall and Sweden Street areas will be turned into a ski village.

Mazzuchelli :”The parking lot behind me is going to be transformed into  a ski park, a fun park for all ages. They can ski across the street and Sweden Street will be tranfsormed into a racing venue. All the businesses and merchants are participating. We are very happy about that. Plenty of places to go downtown and plenty of parking.”

Several groups have teams up to bring the event to the downtown area. The Ski Festival is a tribute to Russell Currier, the Sochi Olympics and just leading a healthy lifestyle. This event is combining several events into one and will make the downtown area the ski hub for several hours.

Mazzuchelli:”We have combined the  Aroostook Youth Ski Festival a bona fide Middle School Aroostook County Ski meet and then we are going to have  Aroostook Cup Number 3 which called the Maine State  Ski Sprints.”

Here is the schedule of events for tomorrow.

Registration for all events start at 9am

Aroostook Youth Ski Festival starts at 10 am

The Middle School Sprints start at 10 am

Maine Ski Sprints start at 2pm

and then on Sunday the annual Henry Anderson Ski dag will be held at the Caribou Ski Trials at the Country Club  10 am.
