Arrest Made in Presque Isle Arson

An arrest has been made in a suspicious fire that happened Sunday night on Skyway Street in Presque Isle.

A joint investigation between the Presque Isle Police Department and the Maine State Fire Marshall’s Office led to the arrest of 27-year old Travis McDoanld of Presque Isle. Firefighters responded to a duplex on 290 Skyway Street around 9 o’clock Sunday evening.
Crews were able to contain the fire but it did cause some damage.
The woman who is renting the place was able to get out safely after her neighbors notified her.
According to Tim Lowell of the Stare Fire Marshall’s Office, McDonald is being charged with arson and is currently being held without bail at the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday
