Armed Person Turns Out to be Trooper, but School Not Happy With Lockdown Procedure

WEST GARDINER, Maine (AP) – The armed person who prompted a lockdown at a West Gardiner elementary school last week was a state trooper visiting a child. Still, the schools superintendent says proper procedure wasn’t followed. ┬áHe told the Kennebec Journal the principal should have stayed in her office and immediately called police. Instead, she ordered the lockdown and went looking for the person.
