The Civic Center in Houlton hosted it’s 27th annual gun show over the weekend, hundreds of people attended and News Source 8’s Angela Christoforos got a SHOT of all the action…
The Houlton Civic Center was the place to be over the weekend, hundreds of gun enthusiasts feasted their eyes on a variety of quality firearms from different vendors.
Attendee Maynard Weymouth said, “Just the excitement of seeing so many different people and actually a lot of these vendors are here year after year.”
All of the guns on display are also for sale.
Ben’s Trading Post Salesman Neil Burnham said, “Hand guns continue to be a strong seller, we also are doing some sales with long guns also.”
Member of Friends of NRA Banquet Committee Jerry Joles said, “This is great this gets people out, people that are interested in fire arms, for different reasons, a place where you can deal with honest dealers, everything is up front background checks are taken which I think is good.”
“This gun here is a double barrel 12 gauge shot gun, it’s a good bird hunting gun,” said Weymouth,
Some people collect guns, others use them for hunting, and some want them for self-protection. This annual event is not slowing down anytime soon, but what keeps people coming back year after year?
Attendee Arthur Cushing said, “First of all the support of the hobby, secondly of all the variety, and you can never have too many guns, there’s no such thing.”
And speaking of guns, the Aroostook Friends of NRA is holding a banquet that’s scheduled to take place at the Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center on May 17th.
