The room was filled with HR professionals on Thursday morning at the 17th annual Human Resource Conference held at the Crowns Nest. Around 60 people were in attendance, ranging from small business owners to one of the largest employers in the area the Aroostook county medical center.
“it’s an excellent opportunity for business of all sizes to come, network with different individuals, learn resources that are available right here in Aroostook County and make new relationships.” Said Ryan Bushey President of Northeast Society for Human Resource Management.
The Conference had 5 keynote speakers, all providing the audience with different information on important subjects.
“the people we have speaking here today, we have speaking on a variety of topics, anything from social networking, to unemployment law, to the ever so popular affordable health care act today.” Bushey added.
Along with the speakers here at the conference are vendors from the Aroostook County area who are here today, in hopes to promote their businesses.
“we are here today to meet and greet other hr professionals to learn about their business’ and to hopefully be able to come in and offer them some voluntary benefits to offer to the employee’s”. Said Melinda King of F.A. Peabody, a vendor at the conference.
This event was not only an informational session but also a great networking opportunity to all in attendance.
